OUR TEAM

Lyn Wortley, Vicar

Calendar 06 more_107.JPGHi, I’m Lyn Wortley, and the Vicar at St Francis’ Church, being mainly responsible for preaching, teaching, pastoral care and overall leadership.  I’m married to Martin, and we have two grown-up sons.  We’ve been here at Bramley for several years and are excited at what God is doing.

At St Francis’, we believe God has given us a wonderful opportunity and an exciting vision to fulfil His purpose in our community and beyond - to reach out to others for, with, and because of, the love of Jesus.  A variety of people are involved in various teams and groups as we seek to share and show the love of God at work in the church and in the local community.   The website tells you a little bit more about St Francis Church, who we are, and what we do.  As well as reading the pages, why not pay us a visit?  We’d love to welcome you and meet you in person!

David Franklin, Assistant Priest

My name is David Franklin , and I’m a non-stipendiary assistant priest at St. Francis. I’m married to Janet, who is the full-time curate in the neighbouring parishes of Maltby and Thurcroft, and we have two sons, born either side of the millennium. We returned to Yorkshire in the summer of 2010, after spending our adult lives in various parts of the UK , most recently in Bowness-on-Windermere where I was the full-time curate. My main areas of responsibility at St. Francis involve liaising with the local primary schools and helping enable all members of the congregation to discover and develop their own gifts and abilities in God’s service.

Sue Wordsworth, Worship Leader

Hi I'm Sue Wordsworth.  I serve as part of a team as Worship Leader at St Francis Church.  I'm married to Brian and have two grown up sons.
It is an absolute privilege to lead people in worship. We have a wonderful group of people all working together for the glory of God.
I have a passion for intimacy with God, to take people deeper into His presence.  God can and does use music to touch our hearts and draw us closer to Him, and through worship we have an opportunity to discover and to tell others about this amazing love that God has for each and every one of us.

Lorraine Newey, Children's Ministry Co-ordinator

Hi, I'm Lorraine. As Children's Ministry co-ordinator, that means I work with a great team of people to provide fun, faith development and relevant activities, events and worship which will inspire and encourage our children and young people in their faith.

It's a delight to be able to offer groups for children in three specific age groups during our Sunday meetings: Champs (preschoolers), Champions (Infants and Junior school age children), and Fusion (teenagers).
